Still pathetically pretentious after all those years. Still teaching history, despite some detours into administrative work. Writing has been the primary focus: War and Government in Britain, 1598-1650 (as editor and contributor, Manchester 1990), The Bishops' Wars: Charles I's campaigns against Scotland, 1638-1640 (sole author, Cambridge 1994), English Warfare 1511-1642 (sole author, Routledge 2001), Amphibious Warfare 1000-1700:
Commerce, State Formation and European Expansion
(as co-editor and contributor, Brill 2005), & Law and Authority in Early Modern England (as co-editor and contributor, Delaware 2007). Married for 17 years to Jodi Lynn Noles, assistant professor (of history, of course) at Georgia Military College - Augusta. My daughter, Christina Maria, graduated from UC Santa Cruz, joined us here in Augusta, did an MEd in counseling education and then moved to Arkansas to work with youngsters there. Our family likes to travel. Recently I got away to Tikal and then to Angkor Wat. In all seriousness, is anyone in the Class of 1968 up for a journey to Libya?

Hello to you all,

It was great to read all the news of how you guys are doing and thanks to those who have done so much to bring us together again!!

I left San Jose in 1973 and moved to Redmond. WA. to be closer to my sister and her family. I fell in love with the beauty of the area and decided to stay. Met my husband and started a family in 1979. My lovely daughter was born in July of that year and I can hardly believe it is has been twenty nine years since that happy day for me.

I have lived in Mount Vernon, WA. since 1984. Worked as a real estate broker for the last ten years and just recently retired.

I live in the country on 5 acres and have really enjoyed being home and able to have a large garden this year and time for all my animals, a chestnut colored quarter horse, two dogs, three cats, six chickens, and a tortoise...

My daughter is happily married and has a precious daughter....how fun to have a grand-daughter. She is two and her mom and dad traveled quite a bit this summer and  so I got to have her to stay with me. Yea!! I have so much fun with her and love to spoil her...I love my new name, "Nonny," short for Nonna, something her mom wanted her to call me...it's funny how the little one's call us what they want...and isn't it fun hearing their little voices say our names and having them hold their little arms up for us to pick them up.

I'd love to see you all again but won't be able to make it to the reunion. I'm sure all of you will have a wonderful time and I'll be thinking of you and wishing I could see you again!

And thanks for the memories!!

I have been living in Texas for 15 years and absolutely love it! My life is fairly simple excluding work where I manage construction projects. I have a 2003 Harley Davidson Electra Glid and every free moment I try to ride. Here in Texas the year around is very possible if you don't mind a little rain. I am looking forward to the reunion and I want to thank Jackie and Ronita for finding me. See you all there.

I am a survivor... (if you only knew)I live on top of a mountain (Truckee) and help Seniors and handicapped individuals. I keep it very simple and happy.
With no pictures or yearbooks to go by, if I recognize a name you really made an impression.
I haven't been back to Willow Glen since the late 80's. And that was the 1st time since graduating.
Hope to hear from you.

I guess it’s just our luck that we were born precisely mid-century and then graduated from high school in a year that was like 1918 or 1848 or 1066—one of the really big years.  1968.  The year of the Assassinations.  The year of Tet.  The year of Nixon.  And there we were, just trying to find dates for the senior ball and write college applications.  What could we possibly have been thinking?

I went to Santa Clara where I got a degree in English  and then to University College, Dublin for graduate school and then back to San Francisco State for an MA in playwrighting, of all things.  Somewhere in between all that I worked at a community radio station in Los Gatos, KTAO, where I would sometimes get calls from Willow Glen classmates who heard me on the air.  There are some jobs your really never recover from, and that was mine.  I learned a lot about music, produced programs and program guides, wrote my first grants, and began a life-long association with non-profits.

I lived in the Northwest for four years where I taught community college and worked as a CETA artist, and in the summer would deliver yachts up and down the Puget Sound.  Then I moved down to Santa Barbara County where I taught high school, worked for a theatre company, and did a lot of off-shore racing.  I got married and fired from my theatre job the same month in 1986 and moved back to the Bay Area to work for Berkeley Rep.  Lucky break on both counts.   I worked as Marketing and Communications Director at Berkeley Rep for 15 years, during which time it became a Big Deal and won a Tony Award and I somehow survived 114 opening nights.   More recently I was Communications Director at the Oakland Museum of California, where we did a big exhibition about California during the Vietnam War and I got to visit 1968 all over again.

Now both my kids are in college, I’m working less, reading more, and thoroughly enjoying myself.  I rowed crew in college and took it up again when I moved back to the Bay Area, which has helped me both keep in shape and objectively chart my gradual decline in aerobic capacity.  My parents still have their house on Curtner Avenue and I’m usually down there a couple of times a month helping them out.   I still love music and I still sail when I get the chance.  I look forward to seeing you all.

Hello to everyone!
It is sometimes hard to believe that it has been 50 years since some of us have seen each other.  I will probably be unable to make it but anything can happen.
Just to catch up - after Mervyn's "transplanted" me and my 2 young children to Dallas, TX. in 1983, I spent 6 yrs. going from 1 store to another until I finally got my own.  Great people in Tx. but not a great place for me to live.  The good news is that that is where I met my husband, Steve and his young son and we have, this year in March, been married for 31 terrific years and have 11 grand children!
We moved to Colorado in 1990 so Steve could be near his family and I have loved living here every single day!  I fiinally quit Mervyns in 1994, opene dmy own in home daycare which I ran for 10 yrs.  Now I have my own business again painting and selling hand-painted ceramics at craft shows and on ETSY.  Love, Love it.
I love the weather, the people, my friends, red wine, traveling the state , my business movies and especially our grand kids! I can't imagine anything better.  I can't imagine ever moving back to Calif. but do go once a year to see my family who all still live there.  Everyone, have fun at the reunion!  Mayhap I be there, mayhap I not!

I'm living in South S.J. teaching Art and Photo at Independence H.S. I've been with my wife Shannon for more than 30 years with two sons, 22 and 24. Our daughter is a junior at Oak Grove H.S.
After H.S. I was drafted and served a year in Vietnam, and just last May attended our 37th year combat reunion in St. Louis. That was a fantastic experience. I am looking forward to our 40th. I really envy you old retired farts. I still havn't figured out what I want to be when I grow up.

Hi fellow WGHS 68ers. I was so pleasantly surprised to find this website and learn that many of you have been gathering together for anniversaries, who knew

After graduation I, headed to Southern California for university where I learned about the Baha’i Faith – and this shaped the course of the rest of my life.  As a Baha’i, I am dedicated to promoting the unity of mankind and my husband and I decided that a good way to do this was to join the Foreign Service of the Department of State.  This allowed us to live in many different countries, Haiti, Samoa, Tanzania, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Morocco, Libya, and Israel.  After leaving the US Government, we served at the Baha’i World Centre in Israel and when we returned I became an advisor at the International Monetary Fund.

Upon retirement from the IMF, we moved to an island in the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis, MD where I work part time as a mediator, mostly employment disputes for Federal Agencies.  I also enjoy gardening and doing volunteer work.

Our son, daughter, daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters also live in Maryland so it is great to be able to get together with them often.

I would love to join you in September... unlikely, but hopeful.
